SPRING BREAK CAMPS
Spring Break camps are the most amazing activities that students love. They provide an avenue of reaching out to the society and having a feel of the community. With that in mind, since its inception SBK has organized three camps. The camps are normally held at the remote rural areas of Kenya because the aim of SBK is to link students with rural communities and empowering them with modern farming skills and technology.
To reach out to rural communities and empower them through the use of modern technology in farming.
What we do
During the camps we reach out to students in schools both primary and secondary and motivate learners in their studies and create mentorship programs whereby learners get in touch with their mentors even after the camp. This program is meant to stimulate positive results in examinations and see learners archive their goals in life.
We talk to farmers within the village where we advice them about the use of modern technology in farming. The aim of this is to create a healthy community that can sustain its own economy.
During the camps we organize for a community project that is meant to transform the lives of the people. This aims at creating a supportive environment for people to advance in their socio –economical activities.
Benefits to springers
As a springer you get a chance to interact with the rural community and a get a feel of life in the rural areas. This kind of initiative provides an avenue to giving back to the society and transforming lives.
It enhances self development. Springers who have been to the SBK camps get to develop holistically because the experience they get serves as an eye opener to them.
Springers from various universities in Kenya get to network and enrich their knowledge.
In a nut shell, SBK is a place where you don’t want to miss out. It is an avenue for transforming lives and being the change that you want to be.
